Network Specialist

J.R. is an ex-officio member of BASM. He provides network and hardware-troubleshooting and support. His skill with protocol, network and cable analyzers, troubleshooting and fixing makes him an invaluable resource when the foundation of our clients’ automation systems, their computers and/or network, are suspected as the cause of data issues or program problems.

J.R. is a constant learner. He consistently attends a Microsoft, Intel, HP or some other class to advance his technical expertise with hardware and networks. Whether it is an Internet, firewall, virus, hardware or software issue, J.R. will get to the bottom of the issue and find the party who has the fix or fix it himself. J.R. and his Fluke network analyzer have solved more than one network “ghost mystery” that was causing a problem.

J.R. is married to Anne and they have two children. J.R. likes motorcycles and is an expert jerky, chicken and ribs smoker. J.R.’s formal certifications include Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) for Server 2000 and 2003, respectively. He is a Certified Sonicwall System Administrator (to make sure that your network is safe from outside attacks) and a VMWare VCDX (VMWare Certified Design Expert). J.R. has been working with BASM since 2000.
