I am pleased to provide you the following reference regarding our experience with Business Automation Specialists.
At VEE Corporation, we create, produce and promote single family shows such as Sesame Street Live. In addition, we create elaborate large scale interactive special event and tradeshow displays exp. NBA ALLSTAR JAM as well as make specialized costumes/mascots for clients like the NBA or General Mills. Our work is labor intensive and job cost is critical to our profitability.
We came to Business Automation Specialists because a recent upgrade of our DOS Job Cost and accounting system to its new Windows version was disastrous. The loss of functionality with upgrading the “old” system was difficult enough to swallow, but we couldn’t even trust the numbers it gave us. We had spent considerable time and money on this upgrade, but we had to look for something new.
You told us SAGE Pro’s Job Cost and Accounting would fulfill our needs, and that you could help us make the switch. We were skeptical, having just gone through our recent debacle. We checked your references. They said that your company was honest and would recommend the lowest cost and highest benefit solution.
We spent half a day with your team at Business Automation reviewing our job cost entry and reporting needs. You told us what the software could and could not do. You pointed out what reports might require customization to consolidate and present information in the way we need to see it.
We had an extremely aggressive timeline. You spent a lot of time meeting with us to define our needs and create a game plan. Together, we determined what level of historical detail we needed to have brought into the new system and how to accomplish this using both our resources and yours. You customized our checks to allow us to add explanation text to the remittance stub, and created a custom program within Job Cost to manage our unique method of revenue recognition.
By the time we approached Business Automation Specialists, we were several months behind in our GL. Within a few months of implementing SAGE Pro, we were completely caught up. We have been very satisfied with the services your company provided. You have shown us how to reduce our manual data entry and simplify our specialized accounting for our costumes and shows. This efficiency was highlighted when our staff was reduced by one employee while our production increased by 40%. Most importantly, we can trust the numbers we get from SAGE Pro. As our Production Manager, Jack said, “You guys rock.”
