As you know from your recent meeting with the president of our company, Ron Tryon, we are thrilled with the business management system your company helped us implement. Your staff challenged us and helped us validate, refine, create and eliminate old processes; making RT Sales a stronger, more profitable company. ACCPAC Pro is an excellent product. It has many powerful features and provides the flexiblity to run the business the way we see fit. Please use this letter to share our experience with others considering your products and services.
RT Sales is a regional distributor of industrial supplies and a manufacturer’s rep. We have a small staff and accomplish a lot with a few people. Our customers appreciate our high level of expert service and have come to expect it.
We have had SBT (now ACCPAC) Pro since 1995. We chose Business Automation Specialists as our new ACCPAC vendor to upgrade our Pro software in 2002. BASM advised that upgrading is a perfect time to re-evaluate our procedures and streamline our operations.
Change doesn’t come easily because we are so busy. We were doing well, but we listened and have eliminated mountains of paper and hours of labor by taking the time to scrutinize our processes and procedures and through BASM challenges, ‘Tell me why you are doing this,’ etc. Two of the many areas we experienced improvement in are bank reconciliation and our picking process.
A large number of manual checks have always made bank reconciliation a tedious, labor intensive chore. Business Automation Specialists helped us develop a procedure to cut down check reconciliation time by several hours each month and provide more timely control of our cash accounts while maintaining the security of our checking accounts.
As with any distribution company, communication between sales and shipping is critical to the speed and accuracy with which orders ship. The faster and more accurately orders are shipped, the happier the customer. BASM showed us how to implement picking tickets which has streamlined communication and made shipping more efficient.
We had several modifications from our previous vendor that helped us with our business process. One was a program to print barcode labels. It had a printing problem that our previous vendor never could fix. Business Automation found and fixed the problem, so our barcode printing program works flawlessly.
One area we wanted to improve was customer profitability. BASM wrote a custom report to analyze our bidding. With this report we can evaluate our customer profitability, check how recently we have called on the customer, and see what products the customer has not purchased.
I recommend Business Automation Specialists to anyone. They have helped us improve our business process and efficiency. ACCPAC Pro is a good product that gives us the tools we need to run our business without bogging us down with unnecessary work. It is a definite plus for us.
